Big Finish Blake’s 7 Liberator Chronicles VIII
This story shows a possible future after Blake wins the war against the Federation. He becomes Lord President and things don’t exactly go as his ideology plans and considers. And he goes a bit mad, I think. All induced in a dream, as the DreamMakers find the aftermath more interesting. And yes, Blake without a dream is a petty dictator perhaps? Cally helps him out for a bit then Jenna shows up to talk to him. Avon takes the Liberator and uses it for his own benefit, to make money for himself.
The DreamMakers crafted this dream for Blake at the behest of someone else. Perhaps you can guess who… But it doesn’t matter. It appears that the future can be twisted and shaped, not just given to you by these DreamMakers. This is a strange story and not quite so introspective as The Hard Road so not quite so good. Lots of dead ends for Blake as President then Emperor but where does it all come to? Who cares, honestly? Just didn’t really find this one as good. And what do the DreamMakers get out of this? Don’t know at all why they cooperate.
