Gods and Monsters (#164)

   Big Finish Main Range

Wow.  Wow!  Really?  Wow.  I’m not even sure how to write this review without including some spoilers!  Hex has been on a major roller coaster ride of emotional and psychological development for so long with Ace and the Doctor it’s difficult to see where he could go next.  Far from being “just a nurse” anymore, he has moved forward to be part of the team, even if Ace jealously guards her place in the team.  Hex doesn’t have a lot of action in this story but ultimately, it’s all about him and his decisions.

I was a bit surprised by the limitations of the elder gods involved in the story.  Really?  If they’re gods, wouldn’t they have boundless energy to do whatever they want?  Who set out the rules in regards to energy use and regaining it?  Not sure that these are the world creating type of gods but they sure seem pretty limited for who they’re supposed to be.  Otherwise, the story’s great!
