Big Finish - Special Release
I actually didn’t realize that this was the Chris and Roz origination story. I’ve heard of them and heard them in later stories but I somehow missed the pairing thing. Anyway, this story is a bit crazy, jumping around from planet to planet, with a villain across time and locations. Since this is a book from 1995, the plot’s been discussed before and not to ruin it for others, Tobias Vaughn is our diluted villain with a purpose – to take the Doctor’s knowledge of time travel to save himself. It’s just fascinating to hear the 7th Doctor out-manipulated by a villainous “guy,” who is doing a lot of things to catch the Doctor and get power himself. Pretty cool, that.
And Bernice is the mainstay of this story for me. She just comes through in every situation. Love Benny! So they all make a good team, ultimately. Enjoyed this despite the over-abundance of locations and cast members. Oh my!
