Island of Death (9.3)

Big Finish Jago and Litefoot Series

When this story begins, we hear from someone wandering the mysterious island, discovering the not-so-friendly beasties that are wandering the nights. Then, of course, our heroes land on this island and find themselves embroiled with a French mining company who are digging into a creature that came from space – Kiboo, the underground space jellyfish as he is called by Mr. Jago. Nice description but it sounds apt from the descriptions. Ewww. And a little HP Lovecraftian, ultimately. And it turns out the Lady Danvers is “tuned in” to Kiboo’s channel and Neville Tibbs has more to him than meets the eye, which isn’t difficult. He is quite milquetoast and Jago makes some good jabs at him for it, though not in his presence. And he’s barely even noticed by people, which makes his end game even more of a whimper, not a bang. Mostly Harmless indeed.

Once again, an excellent story! I am really hoping they can figure out the issue with this voyage and the mist, our heroes. So they’re not stranded for an eternity in strange places seemingly out of time and normalcy. It’s really a fantastic trip for them and this is great stuff! I love taking J&L out of their standard frame of reference and seeing just what can happen. It never disappoints!
