The Wreck of the World (4.4)

  Big Finish, The Early Adventures

This story brings out the best features in the companions! Zoe is really, really useful in this story. She actually runs across another person like her, a pre-programmed human named Twenty. They speak similarly and it’s just fantastic to hear! It really opened my eyes to what Zoe has been through.

The story begins with Zoe fixing the outside of the TARDIS and they crash into a huge ship. A huge ship that is dead – no power and no crew. But there’s a robot that saves Zoe, named Nostic. And there are some people who came to get some of the artifacts from the ship, as it contains a lot of artifacts from 21st/22nd century Earth. But this crew has their own problems, which are exasperated by the creature that is on the ship – Corvis. A humanoid, powerful creature that moves from planet to planet, encouraging civilizations to decay into war and poverty to feed it. Until the civilizations are destroyed and it moves on. It left on the World, the ship, when it thought the Earth was dying.

So now it’s up to the TARDIS crew to stop Corvis before he moves on and destroys more worlds! It’s a really fun story and I just didn’t want to stop listening in the middle. It’s quite well done and I just didn’t know what was going to happen throughout! Very well done.
