The Glorious Revolution (#4.02)

  Big Finish, Companion Chronicles

Though I enjoyed this story, I didn’t know much about this event in history prior to this story. I’m just not enough of an anglophile! This story starts with a time lord accosting an older, wiser Jamie McCrimmon, asking him question about the Doctor, who he doesn’t remember. Then moments later, he waves some doohickey at Jamie and he can remember everything. Wow! That IS some technology. So he quizzes Jamie about anything strange he remembers about his travels as there is something wrong with time. This is a unique conceit used to get through this story in the series!

So this is the story of the Doctor, Jamie, and Zoe ending up in the middle of the glorious revolution, as it was called because it was a relatively bloodless revolution. Jamie convinces King James II to stay and fight, thus causing a paradox that the Time Lord (somehow) have to fix along with Jamie, as he’s telling the story of what happened then. It’s a bit of brain pain but it’s worth it! Good story overall.
