The Skeleton Quay (6.1)

Big Finish Jago and Litefoot Series

Oh dear. I fear that the team has been set up by someone to “tackle” the difficult and strange investigations in the name of Queen Victoria, but realistically it’s someone else trying to get rid of them. Perhaps I’m reading too much into the title of the final story in the series. Plus the fact that they appear to be losing their memories! How this will impact them is yet to be known but I’m not quite sure that they’re actually back in their normal time zone… But this is only the first story in the series!

I really enjoyed this tale of a town called Shingle that is wiped out in a storm. It turns out that shingles are a good protection from storms for coastal towns. Who knew? And there are strange things around – Jago and Litefoot seem to have picked up the Doctor’s “curse” of finding themselves in interesting times. Despite the memory loss, they are still very much themselves, gadding about righting wrongs and making the most of their abilities. A tale of ghosts and mysterious circumstances, the duo makes their way to a seaside town to investigate a fog and strange sightings. And find themselves on the wrong end of a gun! But they manage to get things done properly, partially because the villain cooperates with the agent of change/revenge, as it were. But the mysterious memory drain and Colonel lead me to believe that they are in for a rough ride with this series. That cabinet has led them astray!
