Jago and Son (11.1)

Big Finish Jago and Litefoot Series

I found the ending of this story very strange and confusing. We start the story with a young man hiding in Jago’s office at his theater, who reveals himself to be Harry, or HGJ Junior. How he comes to be is explained later in the story (kind of) but how he comes to think that Jago is his father is never explained. He has a playbill with his mother and Jago on it that Jago has some memory of but no assignations. That he knows of.

The Harry-Henry story is the least interesting part of this story, honestly. I was rather more interested in Jean Bazemore, Professor Litefoot’s leading lady. He goes on an adventure with her in this story, investigating mysterious disappearances and strange happenings. She is in London for an archeological dig and things get very interesting towards the end, with Henry and the Professor ending up in the same place. The Hellfire Club! Wow. I remember that 8th Doctor story, Minuet in Hell. It made quite an impression on me as it was my first 8th Doctor story. I loved it at the time, though it has not worn well. But Dashwood was an interesting character in his own right. So this is the next step for the club, with them all disappearing at the end. I would be interested in finding out if the alien creature in both stories are the same, though I suspect not.
