Big Finish - Short Trips, Season 7
This is a story set in Polly’s past, before she went home and married Ben, apparently. Guess that makes sense in the storyline ultimately but I hadn’t even considered that possibility! I like that Polly thinks back to this story, of a transcendent, powerful being that falls to a planet. And the TARDIS team investigates! Naturally. Only to discover a super powerful, ancient being with feathers and extinction in his wake. He is the last of his kind and wishes to fall and be gone forever, so he is no longer hunted by others who want his power. So the Doctor obliges and we return to the present, where there is a feather from his “coat” and perhaps a remnant of his power. Is this an angel, in the classical biblical sense? We are led to believe that perhaps it is. But we don’t know for sure. I liked the story in general but I got mentally bored in the middle and just phased out for a bit. Not a good sign for a story but there’s no real villain in his piece so it was okay. Just meh for me (sorry Mr. Barnes!).
