Big Finish Main Range
**Major Spoilerville here!**
Wow. Not since Evelyn Smythe’s departure has a companion had such a fond farewell. And with the craziness Hex/Hector had been through, including some of the scariest adventures of the 7th Doctor, he deserved it. Definitely a mistake listening to this at work!
The story begins in Liverpool, where the threesome go their separate ways, though not for Ace trying to convince Hector to stay with her. But there is a new preacher in town, Rufus Stone, and he’s convincing everyone to go along with him. Not the Doctor, of course, but he has his own path to follow. But Hector is convinced so he goes along. Meanwhile the Doctor is visiting the aliens who’ve set up shop, hiding from him for many years, watching this part of northern England where a dying god sleeps. One of the Elder Gods that the Doctor has been fighting for oh so long!
So the story winds down a long path, where you just don’t know what will happen next! It’s rather exciting that way but also a bit odd how it all winds up. At least Thomas Hector Scofield has a happy ending that he so richly deserves. Excellent work, Matt Fitton!
